The tools of our digital age require us to rethink problem solving. At What if Math, we developed a new problem-solving process that we believe will enable every student to be a proficient and creative problem solver. We call our problem-solving process, Functional Thinking. Functional Thinking is a form of design thinking, the creative problem solving process out of the Stanford Design School that is sweeping through the business and STEM worlds, and exciting the world of education. Applying this to education, we use the power of mathematical functions and spreadsheets, to develop the problem-solving skills needed in the digital age.
