Spreadsheet Resources for the Learning and Doing of Mathematics

The spreadsheet is a tool that presents opportunities for learners of all ages and abilities to engage in learning and doing mathematics in a novel way. A selection of spreadsheet labs that challenge learners to think and problem solve creatively will be presented, with a focus on functions, functional thinking, and developing the practice of asking ‘what if….’ not ‘what is…’ A rationale will also be presented for bringing the spreadsheet to a prominent place in teaching and learning mathematics.

Come and learn about the power of spreadsheets as tools to encourage creativity and challenge for students of all ages and abilities to learn mathematical concepts, problem solving, and applications such as Financial Reasoning .  You will see a sampling of spreadsheet labs that are available for you to use at no cost.
